A new student - by the name of Yakyu Jubei - is talked into joining the local Seido baseball team by the school's principal for the upcoming tournament. The principal knows well enough about the student's troubled past; about how he's been expelled multiple times from other schools for his erratic and violent behaviour. But there's a reason why he asked the punk kid to join the team, for their first opponent in the tournament is the feared Gedo High team, whose players are known for their brutality. They're most famous for their match-to-the-death approach, and nobody has ever been able to stay alive against them throughout the entire game. However, when the match day comes, Jubei finds himself locked up in a jail cell. With no guarantee that their new "fighter" will show up in time, the Seido team must face the deadly team from Hell!
